The Black Poems is a limited edition chapbook (100 copies) of ekphrastic poetry by British poet Steven Bruce. The collection is in response to The Black Paintings (a collection of fourteen works of art by Spanish artist Francisco Goya), which hang in the Prado Museum in Madrid. In his collection, Bruce mirrors the haunting themes portrayed in Goya’s paintings. Today, The Black Poems are available from selected bookshops in London, Manchester, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Pisa, Florence, Paris, and Warsaw.
